Nanotecture
Nanotecture, the Energy Technology Company, is developing solutions for the power and energy needs of the portable electronic and automotive markets.
The Company’s strong patent portfolio describes processesthat allow the fabrication of precisely engineered nanomaterials with architectures designed to meet the needs of a particular application.
In energy storage technologies Nanotecture's nanostructured materials can significantly improve power density when integrated into a battery, or be used to produce supercapacitors (ultracapacitors) with both high energy and power capabilities.
The high energy and power performance of the Company’s Microbattery energy storage device allow it to assume very thin form factors whilst maintaining a high power storage capability, essential for incorporation into volume sensitive devices such as mobile phones.
The schematic below demonstrates the structure of Nanotecture’s unique materials. Materials are not composed of nanoparticles, but rather consist of micrometer sized particles each containing an internal ordered network of nanopores. As a result, very high surface areas are achieved but there are no free particles with nanometre dimensions.
