Beneq
Equipment and Technology for Functional Coatings
Beneq is a nanotechnology driven company with a strong IPR portfolio offering industrialized equipment and technology for functional coatings.
Beneq's product line includes equipment based on Hot Aerosol Layering Operation (nHALO®), Aerosol Based Coating [nAERO™] and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD). Our unique processes are protected by IPR, which we license with our equipment. Process knowhow forms an integral part of our deliveries.
nHALO is an atmospheric coating technique, which is applicable to both in-line and off-line coating solutions. The method is used to modify the surface layer of the glass, by allowing particles to diffuse into the glass matrix, or to produce a coating by depositing particles on the top surface of glass, ceramics and some metals.
Beneq's novel Aerosol Based Coating (nAERO) process meets the stringent coating requirements set by today's advanced applications in the glass and photovoltaic industries.
In the nAERO process, submicron droplets are directly deposited on hot glass and form a uniform coating film. The rapid diffusion, large evaporation rate and high surface area of the submicron aerosol ensure a rapid coating growth rate. As the deposition process can be easily scaled, the process can be applied to the transport speeds of glass production and post-processing activities. The main applications for nAERO are low-emissivity and TCO-coatings on glass.
Beneq’s ALD systems produce accurate, pinhole-free and conformal thin-film coatings on various substrates. In addition to the traditional applications of ALD in the IC industry, we also offer coating solutions for many other industrial applications.
Beneq ALD Thin Film Systems units are designed for depositing oxides, nitrides, metals, plastics and biocompatible materials. Applications include optical, photovoltaic, tribology, passivation and primer layer thin films for flat and complex 3D-products.
