The Nanotechnology Industries Association’s goal is to promote the responsible use of nanotechnology and raise awareness of its many applications among key audiences including the media, government,
NGOs and other stakeholders.
Aims & Objectives
The overall aims and objectives of the Nanotechnology Industries Association are:
- To represent the interests of companies using nanotechnology and ensure that members of the press, government and NGOs have access to a representative body.
- To create strong links with other interested stakeholders to explore issues of shared interest.
- To clarify and demystify what nanotechnology is among lay audiences and raise awareness in a balanced way, describing its great potential and its many applications.
- To act as a source for consultation on classifications of nanotechnology and assessments of risk.
- To establish a framework of shared principles for the safe, sustainable, responsive and socially acceptable developments and use of nanotechnology.
- To identify unique areas of potential competitive advantage using nanotechnology.
- To work with regulators and policy makers to realise the full potential of nanotechnology and secure the full economic and societal benefits.
- To develop timely industry perspectives for government, and to assist government policy development on nanotechnology.
